  1. What is web site hosting?
    The World Wide Web is a massive collection of web sites, all hosted on computers (called web servers) all over the world. The web server (computer) where your web site's html files, graphics, etc. reside is known as the web host. Web hosting clients simply upload their web sites to a shared (or dedicated) webserver, which the ISP maintains to ensure a constant, fast connection to the Internet.
  2. What is a domain name?
    (A domain name is…etc. etc…and it Is used for…etc.) You can register your domain name through Internet Hotline for $25 a year. Or if you already own a domain and wish to have it hosted with Internet Hotline, just update your domain to point to our name servers.  
  3. Will I have unlimited access to update my pages? 
    You have unlimited access via FTP 24-hours a day. As such, you can create and maintain your web pages on your own computer and upload files to your web site at your convenience.  
  4. Is there a minimum contract or commitment?
    The minimum time commitment is 1 month. You can pay monthly, quarterly, or yearly.
  5. Do you offer a money back guarantee?
    Yes. If for any reason during the first 10 days as an Internet Hotline (IHOT) customer, you are not completely satisfied with any of our services, we will cancel your account and refund your money for that month's service. You will have to contact our support staff to have the refund processed at support@ihot.com. 
  6. Do you host warez sites or sites containing illegal material?
    No. IHOT does not host any kind of illegal material. Any user found to upload any of these his/her account will be terminated with or without notice. 
  7. Does a back-up of my Web site happen and how often?
    Back-ups are done hourly on all servers. But you should always keep a copy of your web site. If you request Internet Hotline to restore your complete hosting site we do charge to do this. We offer a backup icon on your control panel and all users should take advantage of this feature as well. 
  8. How fast are your network connections?
    We use multiple bandwidth providers to ensure our servers are fast. Internet Hotline is connected by multiple fiber links and multiple redundant T1 and T3 backup networks for superior speed.
  9. Do you offer a web based control panel to manage my web site?
    Internet Hotline offers an unlimited-access, complete web based control panel which is easy to use and highly functional. You can setup e-mail accounts, databases, customize error pages and more.
  10. How reliable are your servers?
    We offer a 99% plus up-time guarantee on all hosting plans. Our servers are located in a data center in the San Francisco bay area of Northern California. They are monitored around the clock by security and trained personnel. 
  11. What are your server specifications?
    We are using different kind of servers. All are running Linux with Apache Web Server. They are all Intel based server with duel/quad processors and at least 1GB of ECC memory. SCSI/SATA disk drive and dual Network Interfaces. 
  12. Are there any hidden fees?
    There are absolutely no hidden fees attached to any of our hosting plans. We do offer a few add-on services like Postini Virus and Spam Filtering. All you pay is your monthly or yearly fee which you agree to when to sign up for our hosting services. We do offer additional service depending on your hosting plan. It is not a hidden fee, but if you go over your allowed traffic bandwidth for your hosting plan you could be charged for the additional bandwidth used. See our pricing pages for more information.
  13. Transferring your Domain
    In order to transfer/move your domain name to Internet Hotline (IHOT) you need to contact your domain name registrar (the company you registered your domain name with) and update the "DNS" records for your domain to reflect our DNS servers.

    Once your domain name registrar sends a confirmation notice that your domain name records have been updated and that your domain has been transferred, it can take from 24 hours to 4 days before the domain name points to our network.

    Please Note: To prevent your site from experiencing downtime, it is recommended that you do not cancel your existing web hosting account for a period of 3-6 days after your domain registrar has updated your domain records. You can download your files and upload them to your new account as soon as your account is setup.
  14. What Methods of payment do you accept?
    We all major credit cards, Visa, Master Card and American Express and Paypal. 
  15. Is there a setup fee?
    No we don't charge a set up fee. We do charge to install SSL certificate if you have a Static IP account.
  16. Do you force ads on my site?
    No, we will never force any type of ads onto your site. You are allowed to put ads on your site if you wish. 
  17. Do you support Microsoft Front Page?
    All hosting plans come with support for Microsoft Front Page extensions. They are automatically installed when you order is placed. You can also install Front Page Extensions through your control panel.
